Harrogate Rugby Club’s Beer Festival & Family Fun Day returns this Saturday

Looking for a fantastic family day out in Harrogate this weekend? Harrogate Rugby Club is inviting families, rugby fans and beer lovers to its popular Beer Festival & Family Fun Day on Saturday 11 July, with live music, local beers, food, children’s entertainment and live sport all packed into one event.

Now in its third year, the festival has become one of the highlights of the Harrogate Rugby calendar, raising vital funds to help maintain the club’s 28-acre site and support its growing rugby community.

A full day of family entertainment

Running from 12pm until 10pm at Harrogate Rugby Club on Rudding Lane, the event promises something for all ages.

Visitors can enjoy:

• 🍺 Craft beers, lagers and ciders from local and regional breweries
• 🎵 Live music throughout the afternoon and evening
• 🍔 Street food and refreshments
• 🏉 Walking rugby festival featuring teams from York, Pocklington, Wath and Harrogate
• 🏃 Turn-up-and-play touch rugby sessions
• 🎈 Bouncy castle, silent disco, arts and crafts, and children’s activities
• 📺 Live sport on the big screens, including England v Fiji in the Nations Championship from 2pm, followed later by the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final featuring England against Norway.

Supporting grassroots rugby in Harrogate

The festival is more than just a great day out. Every ticket helps support Harrogate Rugby Club and its expanding community programmes.

Commercial Chairman Mike Cowling said:

“It’s the third time we’ve run it. We call it a family fun day because we’ve got lots of things for kids. We’ve got a bouncy castle, silent discos, arts and crafts and plenty of activities to keep younger visitors entertained.”

He added:

“We’ve got 400 junior members, a growing ladies’ and girls’ section, walking rugby and we’ve just started touch and pass. We always need to keep fundraising to maintain the ground and keep the facilities in the best condition possible. We just want to make it a great day and a great night for everybody.”

Reduced-price evening admission is available from 6pm, and free overnight parking will be provided for anyone wishing to leave their car and travel home safely by taxi.
