Man Threatened With Knife During Attempted Robbery in Knaresborough

Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage after a man was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in Knaresborough.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Friday 7 August on Wetherby Road, near The Lido.

According to North Yorkshire Police, the victim was approached by three unknown men, who threatened him with a knife.

Victim Challenged the Men

The victim challenged the suspects during the incident and suffered minor injuries. He later attended hospital for treatment.

Despite the threats, nothing was stolen and the suspects fled the scene empty-handed.

Police have now launched an appeal for information as officers work to establish what happened and identify those involved.

Investigating officers are particularly keen to hear from eyewitnesses or anyone with CCTV, doorbell or other footage that may have captured the incident or the suspects in the area.

A police spokesperson said:

“We’re particularly appealing for information about CCTV which may have captured the incident, or any eye-witnesses.”

Anyone who was travelling along Wetherby Road or near The Lido at around 10.30pm on Friday 7 August is being urged to check whether they may have information that could help.
