E 127 Gig

East 17 to play intimate Harrogate gig as tickets sell out in record time

A historic former working men’s club in Harrogate has secured a surprise appearance by one of the biggest boy bands of the 1990s — and tickets have already sold out within hours.

Chart-topping pop group East 17 will perform live at Bilton Club later this year, bringing their classic hits to the small Harrogate venue in what organisers say is a major coup.

The band will headline a themed 90s night on December 11, 2026, with fans expected to pack the club for a rare, intimate performance by the multi-million-selling group.

Concertgoers can expect to hear many of East 17’s best-known songs, including Stay Another DayEach TimeIf You EverIt’s Alright and House of Love.

Formed in Walthamstow, London, in 1991, East 17 became one of the UK’s biggest pop acts of the decade, known for their edgy “bad boy” image and a distinctive sound blending pop, hip-hop and R&B. At their peak they rivalled the popularity of fellow boy band Take That.

The original line-up featured songwriter Tony Mortimer, lead singer Brian Harvey, and backing vocalists John Hendy and Terry Coldwell. Coldwell remains the only member who has been with the group since its formation.

Their biggest hit, Stay Another Day, became the 1994 Christmas number one, while other successful singles included House of LoveDeepSteamThunder and the Gabrielle duet If You Ever. Across their career, the group achieved 18 UK Top 20 singles and four Top 10 albums, selling more than 18 million records worldwide.

Today East 17 continues to tour widely on the popular 90s nostalgia circuit. The current line-up features Terry ColdwellJoe Livermore and Robbie Craig, formerly of Artful Dodger.

With more UK shows scheduled for 2026 — including dates in Brighton, Blackpool and London — the sold-out Harrogate appearance highlights the enduring appeal of the band more than 30 years after they first rose to fame.
