Thousands of Pounds of Damage After Harrogate Hit-and-Run – Police Appeal for Witnesses

Were you driving along Railway Road in Harrogate on Monday afternoon? A few moments of dashcam footage could help North Yorkshire Police identify the driver who fled the scene after causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

The collision happened between 2.25pm and 2.35pm on Monday, 13 July, near the entrances to Sainsbury’s car park on Railway Road.

What Happened?

Police say the incident involved:

• 🚙 A grey or blue SUV estate
• 🚗 A black Honda
• 📍 Railway Road, close to the Sainsbury’s car park entrances
• 🕝 Between 2.25pm and 2.35pm

After the collision, the SUV failed to stop. It turned left onto Wetherby Road and headed towards Woodlands Corner.

Thousands of Pounds of Damage

The impact left the black Honda with several thousand pounds worth of damage. Officers believe the vehicle that left the scene is also likely to have visible front-end damage, which could help identify it.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said:

“The impact caused several thousand pounds worth of damage to the Honda. The vehicle involved will have some level of front-end damage.”
