Boroughbridge care home completes 500-mile charity cycle

A care home in Boroughbridge has brought smiles, laughter, and community spirit together after residents and staff completed a remarkable 500-mile cycling challenge for Red Nose Day.

At Boroughbridge Manor Care Home, the sound of encouragement filled the room as residents, carers, relatives, and even visiting GPs took turns on a static bike to reach the ambitious goal on March 20.

Wearing their red noses with pride, participants were cheered on every step of the way — creating a feel-good atmosphere that captured the true spirit of Comic Relief.

The challenge raised £35 for the charity, which supports people facing hardship across the UK and around the world. While the total may be modest, the sense of achievement and togetherness made a lasting impact on everyone involved.

“Taking part in Red Nose Day has been a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has supported us all the way,” said Susan Carter, Senior General Manager. “It’s such an important cause, and we’re proud to do our bit.”

Red Nose Day has been bringing communities together for over 40 years, and this Boroughbridge care home proved that every effort — big or small — can make a difference.
