The B Corp-certified brand will open at 2–3 James Street in October 2026, after spending more than three years searching for the perfect Harrogate location.
And this won’t be just another clothes shop. The new store promises private shopping experiences, events and community activities alongside Scamp & Dude’s distinctive womenswear.
👀 What Harrogate shoppers can expect
The new Scamp & Dude store will offer:
- More than 2,100 sq ft of shopping space
- Two floors showcasing the full womenswear collection
- A private Bolt Room fitting and shopping experience
- Complimentary refreshments for groups using the Bolt Room
- Special events and community activities throughout the year
- A prominent James Street location opposite Harrogate railway station
An exact opening date hasn’t been revealed yet, but the doors are expected to open in October 2026.
💗 Why Harrogate?
It seems Harrogate wasn’t simply another location on Scamp & Dude’s expansion list.
Founder and CEO Jo Tutchener Sharp OBE revealed the company had been looking for the right premises in the town for more than three years.
“We’ve wanted a store in Harrogate for such a long time; it’s taken us over three years to find the perfect spot, so it’s long overdue.”
She described Harrogate as “a real gem”, adding that it felt right for the town to become Scamp & Dude’s permanent home in the North.
That’s quite an endorsement for Harrogate — and another sign of the town’s continuing appeal to distinctive national brands.
🛍️ A prime spot on James Street
Anyone who regularly shops in Harrogate will know just how prominent the new location is.
The corner unit at 2–3 James Street sits opposite Harrogate railway station, placing Scamp & Dude within easy walking distance of the town’s shops, cafés, restaurants and attractions.
It also makes the store easy to reach for shoppers travelling into Harrogate from Leeds and York, as well as visitors arriving from further afield.
For those planning a shopping day in Harrogate, there will soon be another reason to explore James Street.

✨ More than just shopping
One of the more unusual features coming to Harrogate is Scamp & Dude’s Bolt Room.
This large private fitting space can be booked in advance, allowing friends and groups to get together, try on collections and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
The company is also planning a year-round programme of events, helping turn the new shop into a community destination rather than simply somewhere to buy clothes.
Further details are expected closer to opening.
❤️ Fashion with a charitable mission
There’s another side to the Scamp & Dude story that shoppers may not know.
Jo Tutchener Sharp founded the company in 2016 while recovering from brain surgery, and charitable giving has subsequently become an important part of the brand.
Scamp & Dude says it has donated more than £4.4 million in cash and products through its charitable programmes.
Its Super Scarf Mission has provided more than 93,000 scarves to women starting chemotherapy, while more than 10,000 Superhero Sleep Buddies have been donated to children who are seriously ill or have lost a parent.
Tutchener Sharp was also awarded an OBE for services to fashion and charity.
📅 When is Scamp & Dude opening in Harrogate?
October 2026 — although the exact opening day has yet to be announced.
With its 10th anniversary celebrations underway and Harrogate chosen as its permanent northern home, this could be one of the town centre’s most interesting new shop openings of the autumn.
And after a three-year search for the right location, it seems Scamp & Dude has finally found what it was looking for — right here in Harrogate.
