Harrogate Driver, 88, Dies Following Collision With Parked Tesla on St Winifred’s Road
An 88-year-old woman has tragically died following a collision involving her car and a parked vehicle in Harrogate.
The incident happened at approximately 11.35am on Sunday, May 31, on St Winifred’s Road, a residential street close to Harrogate town centre. The woman was driving a silver Toyota Yaris when it collided with a black Tesla that was parked on the road.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, the driver later died following the collision.
North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that the woman’s family have been informed and are receiving support.
The road was closed for several hours while specialist collision investigators carried out enquiries and vehicle recovery work.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
North Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage as part of their ongoing investigation into the Harrogate crash.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the Toyota Yaris in the moments before the incident, or captured any relevant footage on a dashcam.
The force said information from members of the public could help establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Investigation Continues
The incident has prompted a police investigation as officers work to determine exactly what happened before the collision occurred.
Anyone with information, CCTV footage, doorbell camera footage or dashcam recordings from the area around St Winifred’s Road at the time of the incident is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
The collision remains under investigation.
