A major fuel theft has been reported in Harrogate after criminals targeted a housing development, stealing more than 1,000 litres of diesel in a raid worth over £1,000.

The burglary happened at a Persimmon Homes building site on Kingsley Drive between 4pm on Friday, 10 April and 7am on Monday, 13 April. Offenders are believed to have siphoned fuel from multiple vehicles over the weekend, leaving significant losses for the site.

North Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation and are urging residents to remain vigilant, particularly those living near Kingsley Drive and surrounding areas of Harrogate.

A spokesperson said officers are “particularly keen” to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or unusual vehicles during the timeframe. Residents with CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage are also being asked to check recordings that could help identify those responsible.
